  Welcome to St. Mary's Berea Sacramental Preparation for Holy Eucharist. 

  Please remember to send in your Mass Request card!  Only about half of the cards have been submitted.  Also remember to turn in your "Kut-out Kid" self portrait so that we can finish our Banner!

On January 6, 2010, our 2nd graders will begin preparation for the reception of Holy Communion.  It is a very special time in their sacramental life.  The schedule for the 2009-10 is as follows:

SACRAMENTAL CALENDAR – 2^ND GRADE

 01/06/2010 – Wednesday - 7:00-8:30pm - First Communion Parent Meeting (St. Mary's Church)

 01/10/2010 - Sunday - 9:00-10:00am - First Communion Enrollment Ceremony.  All First Communion Candidates are expected to attend the 9:00 mass where they will be introduced to the Parish and commit to preparation required to receive their first holy communion. 

 03/03/2010 - Wednesday - 6:00-6:50pm - First Communion music practice.  Practice will held at the church.  Students will listen to the music that will be played at their first communion mass.

04/24/2010 - Saturday - 9:00am-1:00pm - PSR Jesus Day (St. Mary's Church & and Garrity Center).  This is a day for both parent and First Communicants.  It is a day of reflection, preparation and fun-filled activities all centered around their reception of the Holy Eucharist.

04/28/2010 - Wednesday - 6:30-7:30pm - First Communion Song Practice (St. Mary's Church)

04/28/2010 - Wednesday - 7:30-8:00pm - First Communion Group Picture (St. Mary's Church).

04/29/2010 - Thursday - 6:00-7:30pm - First Communion Practice - 10:30 mass (St. Mary's Church).  This practice will be for all those attending the “traditional” group ceremony.

04/30/2010 - Friday - St. Mary's School Jesus Day (St. Mary's Church & Garrity Center).  This is a day for First Communicants from our school.  It is a day of reflection, preparation and fun-filled activities all centered around their reception of the Holy Eucharist.

04/30/2010 - Friday - 6:00-8:30pm - First Communion Practice - 1:00 mass (St. Mary's Church).  This practice will be for those attending the “family” ceremony.  Parents are required to attend to assure proper seating.

05/01/2010 - Saturday - First Communion celebrated at 10:30am (traditional) and 1:00pm (family) in St. Mary's Church.  Individual pictures are taken between the masses.  Envelopes for payment are to be turned into the photographer at the time of your sitting.

  There is a $20 fee associated with this sacrament, to defray the cost associated with the extra effort and materials required to make this day so very special!
