Children's Liturgy
of the Word
|
I have attached the updated schedule
for the Children's
Liturgy of the Word
that includes
February 21st (1st
Sunday of
Lent) through
May 23, 2010 (The
Solemnity of
Pentecost).
Just a couple of
notes . . .
- I've added the
page number of the
Worksheet to the
Liturgical Week
(center column) to
aid in finding the
specific Worksheet.
If you use the
scroll bar on the
far right of the
window, the page
number will be shown
as you scroll down.
I hope this helps!
- Once again this
year, the
Confirmation
Candidates will be
taking a turn with
the kids! They will
start February 28th
. . . and end on
April 11th. For
those 6 weeks
(including
Easter) each
of the
Confirmation
Teams will be
responsible for
bringing God's
message to the young
people of the
Parish. Our
"regular" schedule
starts again on
April 18th.

Helping Hands . .
. Open Hearts
This year (2009-10) the entire
Religious Education Program will have a common theme for our efforts
to spread our faith outside the classroom. This theme will
apply to PSR, Teen Faith, Youth
Ministry and our Sacramental Preparation programs of First Reconciliation, First
Holy Eucharist & Confirmation.
Follow us as we share our faith
with all those around us . . . using our helping hands to open the
hearts of those in need . . .
We have decided to dedicate our
Service efforts to the support of our Parish and its many
ministries. For an update of who's doing what . . . follow the
"PSR" navigation button on the gold bar (above). At the PSR Home
page select "Class Projects" on the Blue navigation bar (left side).

G.I.F.T.S.S.
The PSR "GIFTSS" (Giving
Individualized Faith Training to Special Students) program provides
a unique opportunity to share our faith with special needs children.
The program has been in existence for 2 years, helping children and
young adults to understand their faith a little better.
Our program is led by 2
qualifed Intervention Specialists who are capable of working with
all types of special needs.
If you have a special
needs child, or young adult, please consider giving our program a
try. To see more information about the GIFTSS program, follow
the PSR navigation link on the gold bar (above) and then
select GIFTSS on the Blue navigation bar (left).

Our site is dedicated to providing
information about those activities that are part of the REO, including:
Parish School of Religion
(PSR). PSR consists of the Faith Formation programs
for children in grades PRE-K - 7. It includes the Sacramental
preparation associated with First Reconciliation & First Holy
Communion, both occurring in the 2nd grade. If you wish to access
the sacramental information directly, there is a navigation bar on
the left of this page. The PSR program gathers at two
different days/times, 10:30am-11:45am on Sunday mornings (grades PRE-K - 3rd) and
6:45pm-8:15pm on Monday evenings (grades 4 - 7). Our sessions
generally start in September and end at the the beginning of May,
with a break at both Christmas and Easter time.
Parish Youth Ministry.
The Youth Ministry deals with maturing & strengthening the Faith of
our Parish Teens. This is done through a number of activities
. . .
- Teen
Faith Program is for our 8th & 9th grade youth. The
Program is a series of topics that address the issues that affect
this group of young people on a daily basis (Social Justice, Media
influence on our Faith, Sexuality, Learning the Mass, etc.).
Each session is 5-6 weeks long. Sessions are on Sunday &
Monday nights during the school year.
-
Youth Group
meets on a monthly basis. The objective is to gather for
faith-based fun and fellowship. This group spends the year
planning for and attending their annual WorkCamp retreat. All
teens 8th grade and up and their friends of all faiths are welcome
and encouraged to attend.
-
Sacramental preparation for Confirmation. Starting in
September of each year, this process is for those 10th graders of
our Parish who are ready to complete their initiation into the
Catholic Church. If you wish to access the sacramental
information directly, there is a navigation bar on the left of this
page.
- Adult Faith
Formation. This program consists of a number of groups
for adults who are interested in growing in their knowledge and
practice of the faith. These ministries include . . .
- The Men’s Spirituality Group of the parish gather to
reflect on the Sunday Gospel, to pray, share and discuss topics
related to our Catholic faith.
- Bible Study offers study and reflection on
the Bible. Topics are chosen with input from the participants.
- Centering Prayer introduces parishioners to a quiet form of prayer and
support.
- 12 Step Spirituality Group
integrates principles of the twelve steps of addiction or
compulsion into a Christian way
of life.
- Spiritual Direction is available for individuals who are seeking a deeper
relationship with God.
- Side Altar Talks are led by the priests of the parish who teach about
specific topics during Advent.
